The Entrust Datacard Technology Alliance program fosters partnerships with other leading organizations to provide customers simple, powerful solutions that address real business challenges.  Four Technology Alliance Program companies were in the news recently – BlackBerry, MobileIron, Mobile Innovations and Safran Identity & Security.

Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) Track News: BlackBerry, MobileIron and Mobile Innovations

The newest technology integration between the Entrust® IdentityGuard Mobile Smart Credential and the BlackBerry 10 Smart Card Service Framework provides BlackBerry 10 users with secure access to both enterprise and cloud-based applications on their devices without the need for physical tokens or smart cards. Traditionally, smartcard based access to sensitive enterprise applications has been limited to desktop or laptop computers. As mobile becomes the primary computing platform, government agencies and enterprises are now able to fully utilize the power of mobile devices and provide employees access to sensitive applications or documents without compromising security policies. The integration is an additional step toward providing Entrust Datacard customers with frictionless, high assurance mobile solutions in combination with strategic partners like BlackBerry.

MobileIron, the stand-alone EMM leader, and Entrust Datacard recently announced a technology alliance partnership to deliver derived credentials for next-generation multi-factor authentication. MobileIron Derived Credentials with Entrust IdentityGuard Mobile Smart Credential ("Derived Credentials") will provide government agencies that want to use mobile technologies the ability to protect sensitive data while eliminating the need for passwords and hardware tokens.  Derived Credentials will allow organizations that are using smart cards for authentication to easily extend this technology to mobile devices, providing strong, password-less authentication to the most sensitive of resources. The new product will support the General Services Administration's Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) architecture. While government is the catalyst for Derived Credentials, this methodology is directly relevant to any organization moving to more secure forms of authentication.

As an Entrust Datacard Technology Alliance Partner, Mobile Innovations has integrated with Entrust Datacard's FIPS 201 compliant Smartcards, using both contact and NFC interfaces on smartphones and desktops. Mobile Innovations has also leveraged Entrust Datacard's NIST SP800-157 compliant derived credential capabilities certificates on iOS, Android and Blackberry 10 which provides frictionless smartphone security.  Mobile Innovations is now the only Canadian firm able to offer hand held mobile data securely in compliance with these Canadian Law Enforcement requirements.
