What Does President Obamas Cybersecurity National Action Plan Mean to You | BLOG

This week, President Obama released his Cybersecurity National Action Plan which proposes an increase in federal cybersecurity spending to almost $19 billion, three times more than past annual budgets. This additional funding will provide that nation with the ability to update its far outdated federal computer systems, provide funding to build the nations cybersecurity professionals, create national awareness campaigns to create increased public awareness of cyberthreats and how to increases personal cybersecurity and finally, hiring a national chief information security officer who will be tasked with implementing and driving these initiatives across the U.S. government. The goal of the plan is not necessarily to solve cybercrime, but rather to lay a solid foundation for combatting the ever-evolving cybersecurity threat landscape.
